Sam Maggs

  1. Before
  2. After

Sam Maggs has spent the last 4 years working at Radio Phoenix UK with the likes of Luke and Tom. In that time he decided that he would get up earlier and present radio ( he must have been mad ). Sam presents the weekend breakfast show on air Saturday and Sunday mornings, 9am to 10am.

Sam’s brain drizzle

Songs I love:

My music taste changes quite a bit from time to time, but I quite like singer songwriter stuff, especially Tom Odell and Gabrielle Aplin. My favourite song has to be Alive by Gabrielle!

Movies I love:

I dont watch many movies but I do enjoy a good comedy or Sci Fi film. I like Hot Fuzz, Bad Boys, The Kings Speech and Iron Man.

TV shows I love:

I watch too much TV! I love crime programs though, programs like: Silk, Law and Order UK, Hustle, Ashes to Ashes and so many more. I’m also a bit of a nerd and enjoy Doctor Who, Merlin and Torchwood

Food I love:

Macaroni Cheese! I also like a bit of chocolate 😉

Celebs I love:

Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Lord Sugar, Lewis Hamilton, Gabrielle Aplin, Justin Timberlake, Matt Smith, David Tennant and Jo Nesbo (Author).

Websites I love:

Onemorelevel.com for procrastination! Definitely Twitter and I kind of have to mention Wikipedia for all the times its helped me do homework or win arguments.

Parts of the World I love:

Gran Canaria and London. Thats about it for now… I don’t get out much

Things I love doing:

I love doing Photography, web design, messing with computers, reading, having fun and spending time with my friends!

Who would you like to have a drink with and why?

If it could be anyone… It would probably be Jo Nesbo, I love his books and he is interesting! Failing that it would be Gabrielle Aplin.

If you could swap places with someone for the day who would it be and why? Ummm this is a difficult one. I would prefer to be me but if I had to choose I would be Doctor Who. I would be a timelord and then the day would last forever.

Your own a desert island, what 3 things have you got and why?

A radio to listen to music, a notebook and a load of computer parts so I can build a computer.

What would you call your autobiography?

I want to say ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ but I suspect thats been taken, so perhaps just ‘Simply Me’?

Most worn item of clothing and why?

Jeans. No matter what they will never be out of fashion. People go for chinos etc, but really Jeans will always prevail!

What’s your proudest achievement so far?

Getting through my GCSEs and building my own website.

Why I love being part of Youth Radio Rocks?

The people, the music and the experience. If I can give something back whilst having fun then I will!
